'Since forming in 2000, Atlanta's Mastodon has essentially lived on the road. After non-stop touring the band, Brann Dailor, Bill Kelliher, Troy Sanders and Brent Hinds decided to record a demo, which would ultimately be released in a shortened EP form on Relapse Records as Lifeblood. The success of the EP spurned more touring, and even greater success. Their first full-length album Remission, followed in 2002. True to form another round of touring ensued and then Leviathan an album critics were quick to embrace. But it's with the band's legion of fans that they have really delivered. Mastodon's "blue collar" touring ethic has earned them constant accolades from fans that have grown accustomed to their accessibility, approachability and dedication as a working mans band. Rare is the artist who achieves that critical balance coupled with the level of fan support Mastodon has attained. Blood Mountain was released in September of 2006 to critical acclaim and grammy nominated. Mastodon are currently preparing the release of CRACK THE SKYE MARCH 24'

my review begins here !

okee cukup lama juga tenggang waktu nya setelah mereka ngerilis Blood Mountain. masih tetep gaya" mastodon yg lama. melodik" gitarnya masih sama. sticking" drumnya masih sangar dan masih gak bisa gue jangkau. distorsinya masih berat. liriknya jg masih gak jelas.

kalo lo nyari lagu yg liriknya bagus dan bisa dimengerti, here are the artist that I hardly NOT recommended. sumpah dari awal gue dengerin, gak pernah jelas liriknya. tp tetep aja ada beberapa yg gue apal.

okaay the album begins with Oblivion, sebuah track yg awalnya ngasih nuansa serem" gloomy asoooyy ke dalam album ini. listening to this song giving me imagination that something dark and scary will coming in my way. track kedua! yeah I love this song! Divinations sebuah single pertama-x dari album ini. single yg catchy menurut gue. single nya Mastodon bangget gitu loch! single yg gue suka banget! soalnya sticking drumnya gak terlalu ribet! haha!

lagu ketiga Quintessence. sekali lagi Mastodon memberikan gue imajinasi tentang sebuah perjalanan. lagu ini ngebuat gue berasa dalam sebuah perjalanan untuk mencari sesuatu, terus di tengah jalan ada konfliknya. ah mantap laah. lagu keempat, yg judulnya panjang itu. no comment dah. kalo di film ni kayak bagian setelah konflik ada, terus pada nyari jalan keluarnya gitu.

Ghost of Karelia kembali mengingatkan gue akan lagu" pas di Blood Mountain. cuman ini lebih banyak sisi gelapnya. wuw. same thing as the next song, Crack The Skye. mastodon bangeeett! apasih gue.

last track! here we are, in the end of our strange journey through Mastodon's story. The Last Baron, bener" sebuah track panjang yg ... panjang. sebuah track ciamik yg pantas untuk ditempatkan di tempat terakhir.

dan sampe sekarang, gue msh ngefans sm drummernya! gile itu orang apa robot?! damn man, stickingnya paraaahh. drummer jazz yg make keahlian jazznya buat dimasukin ke metal? that's sick!
